Guided fly-fishing tours for all skill levels in the Vermont Green Mountain range.
In this hands-on 2-hour session, I’ll walk you through the proper setup and assembly of a fly rod, then teach you key casting techniques for a variety of water types—whether it’s open river stretches, deep pools, or tight, wooded streams. You’ll also get a simple introduction to aquatic insect identification, so you’ll know what flies to use and when, based on seasonal hatches.
This 3.5-hour tour is available in two time slots: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. You’ll fish at one of the river locations shown on the map, where I’ll guide you to the best spots for the day. Included is a set of hand-tied flies, selected to match the river ecosystem, ensuring the most effective fishing experience.
The full-day tour offers flexibility to either focus on a single river or explore multiple rivers in the area, depending on your preference. This allows for a diverse range of fishing experiences, from remote, holdover trout pools to expansive, open river stretches. The tour runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing ample time to fish throughout the day.
Once you submit a request for a fly fishing tour, you’ll receive an email response within a few days to coordinate the details. Together, we’ll choose a meeting point based on one of the river locations —each river’s section can be found on the Map for easy reference.
Depending on the time of year and water conditions, waders are strongly recommended for the best fishing experience. Please note that waders are not provided.
If you need a fly rod, one can be supplied upon request—just be sure to include this in your email request so it can be arranged ahead of time.
